Preparing for and responsibly manage both current and future growth

  • Intelligent multi-use development for a vibrant and versatile city

  • Review of the city's comprehensive plan with a focus on balancing height vs density and zoning reviews

  • Preserve Garden City’s arts culture and support our thriving restaurant, beverage and business scene

  • Further develop mutually beneficial relationships with residents, businesses, developers and agencies

  • Smart planning for greenfield growth on the city's west end and potential annexation in that area

  • Plan carefully for the soon to be vacated ACHD property on 37th street

  • Collaborate with Ada County on future development at the fairgrounds

Listen and understand the priorities of the community

  • Communication and access for the city's residents and business owners

    • Quarterly input and feedback sessions​

    • Newsletters from the mayor's office

    • Coffee with the mayor

  • Promotion and support for Garden City events and community groups

    • 1st Friday - Art in the City events​

    • Sponsor a Beer & Wine Festival highlighting the city's growing craft beverage culture

    • New business ribbon cuttings and events

  • Transparency from the city for all stakeholders. Access to the Mayor's office and senior city staff

Investment in Public Services

Enhance our quality of life through thoughtful planning and investment

  • Support and properly fund our award-winning Garden City Library

  • Sustain proper funding of the Police Department 

  • Preserve and improve our infrastructure to support the needs of current and future residents and businesses

  • Continued Greenbelt and park maintenance and safety for all users 

  • Continuously update and employ the City's use of technology to drive efficiency

Fiscal Responsibility

Uphold operational excellence and sound money management practices

  • Responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars

  • A balanced City Budget and keeping the city debt free

  • A strong fund balance

  • Fair and equitable impact fees

  • Growth that pays for growth and it's related infrastructure costs

  • Well planned and budgeted capital expenditures
